Immigration, the difference between Texas and California
The more I think about this, the more it makes sense.
Economic forces driving the immigration issue, rather than the government controlling the border. Perry’s wisdom (and those of his predecessors in Texas) becomes more and more apparent. Let the private sector solve the problems. Government should only step in when there’s a real problem. And then they should take a minor role, lest they make the problem worse.
Texas is taking the right steps, not California. It’s the old parable: Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat today. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll eat for life.
