Is it time to quit Occupying everything yet?

This morning brings news that there were a lot of arrests at Occupy Iowa™.

WhoTV: OCCUPY IOWA: Protestors gather in Des Moines

Des Moines Register: Update: Police arrest Occupy Iowa demonstrators

edit: Now you can enjoy seeing protesters arrested! Des Moines Register: 32 protesters arrested at Occupy Iowa event

Seems you have to have a permit to camp on state land. Between this and the Air and Space Museum closing down, can you have a more egregious form of constitutional violations? (do I need the /sarcasm tag?)

Speaking of the Air and Space Museum, there’s a sidebar article on a reporter from the American Spectator being pepper sprayed there. DailyMail.uk: Sex and drugs on tap, who says it’s not a political partaaay? Occupy Wall Street protesters make love as well as class war

And now for the time when we start blaming the right for starting everything. dcist: American Spectator Editor Admits Infiltrating Protest Group, Pepper Sprayed at Smithsonian

Although it is unclear if he directly propelled the group to charge the museum entrance, several editorial outlets have labeled him as an “instigator” and “agent provocateur” of the incident.

I don’t get this at all. On one hand, you have big names pushing and riding this movement, like SEIU, MoveOn, and even the DCCC.

But they don’t give these people direction. They just let them ramble around like lose electrons.

    Useful idiots, indeed.

I think this is going to create more conservatives than Romney will. The college kids who started this crap are going to find out very soon just what happens when free shit entices the less savory elements of society.

It’s a tough lesson, but at 29, with a degree in interpretive dance theory of the pre-czarist Russia, it’s probably about time.
