Democrat paints rock in 1984

Modified from the original quote (Washington Post) story:

Paint Creek, Tex. — In the early years of his political career, a Texas Democrat began hosting fellow lawmakers, friends and supporters at his family’s secluded West Texas hunting camp, a place known by the name painted in block letters across a large, flat rock standing upright at its gated entrance.

“N*ggerhead,” it read.

How differently would the media have treated this story if it had been worded that way?

By the way, in the above blockquote, “a Texas Democrat” was substituted for “Rick Perry”, in case you wondered. And it’s true, he switched to the Republican party in 1989. He told his parents about the rock in 1983-1984.

Shit, what a mountain out of a freakin’ ant hill.

The media wasn’t concerned with Jeremiah Wright, as I recall.
