Bachmann going after HPV and Perry

The Right Scoop: Gardasil Recipient Suffered Mental Retardation

Michelle Bachmann is going all in on the Gardasil issue. Now she’s courting the Jenny McCarthy vote. this will not end well for Bachmann, if she continues down this path. She’s not making friends with this purely political attack.

I am a supporter of Bachmann, but this is the wrong path to attack Perry on. It rings of political opportunism, and also seems wrong on the facts, too. She’s painting herself into the anti-vaccination crowd. That is a complete loser position, and she should back herself out of it.

Edit: CDC Report on Gardasil. Sure doesn’t look like it’s the second coming of the plague to me.

Summary

Based on all of the information we have today, CDC recommends HPV vaccination for the prevention of most types of cervical cancer. As with all approved vaccines, CDC and FDA will continue to closely monitor the safety of HPV vaccines. Any problems detected with these vaccines will be reported to health officials, healthcare providers, and the public and needed action will be taken to ensure the public’s health and safety.

She needs to stay the fuck away from this, ASAP.

If she uses this mental retardation case (on which she only has a mom’s word for it), it will sink her. She is a valuable asset to the conservative movement, but if she won’t stick to her relevant strong points, she will be derided as a kook, just like Ron Paul.

This issue is really starting to piss me off. There are so many things to be positive about, but we have to keep tearing the front runner down.

Bachman is getting desperate and it’s showing.

The more I pay attention to her the less I like her.

Sadly, I have to agree. She is becoming more and more a shrill voice in the night, vice a voice of calm and reasoned thought. I thought with Rollens leaving, she was, perhaps, heading in the right direction. Now, I have my doubts. Being steadfast in ones beliefs, against those who would counsel you otherwise, is one thing. Being strident to the point (and perhaps well past that) of foolhardiness, is not something of value in one selected to rule.

Bachmann runs the very real risk of becoming the Republican’s female version of Ron Paul.

I don’t see her recovering from this. The media, while friendly to gaffes from Dems, will absolutely blast her.

There isn’t an easy road to recover from this.

    Heh… My thoughts exactly.
